Final-use representative tests definition (RENAULT / PSA Peugeot Citroën)

Detailed characterization of vehicles and cost reductions are major concerns of manufacturers. One way of reducing test costs while maintaining appropriate characterization is accelerated aging simulations.

In multiple collaborations PSA and RENAULT benefitted from the expertise of RMS characterizing tests relevant to final-use.
RMS developed a correlation method, using classification to characterize speed-up tests (vibrating tests, climatic tests) by gathering damaging situation rather than enhancing amplitudes. This method can be used on any type of materials, and for multi-modal approach of aging. In addition, it allows correlating multiple test types (correlation track-test/final-use, correlation track-test/track-test, or correlation track-test/test-bench).

These tests procedures are currently used at PSA and multiple parts manufacturers. They provided increase tests availability, reliability and representativeness.
